Why I use Neal's Yard Remedies

When I started my business as a mobile holistic therapist, I wanted to select a skincare brand that reflected my ethos of consuming only natural, organic food and using organic skincare. I feel that it is SO important to use only products that are pure and natural, as much of what we put on our skin is absorbed into the body. I looked at various different companies that were suitable for small businesses and Neal’s Yard Remedies was leaps and bounds ahead of the competition.

Take a look at how Neal’s Yard Remedies began and grew as a company…

  • Neal’s Yard started off in a small Covent Garden store in 1981 by natural health advocate, Romy Fraser.

  • In 2006, the company was then bought by organic farmers, the Kindersleys family.

  • In 2014 NYR became the first health and beauty brand to receive 100/100 for ethics by The Ethical Company Organisation. They are also the UK’s first certified organic health and beauty company.

  • Their headquarters are in an eco factory in North Dorset, surrounded by acres of organic gardens, fields and meadows where many of the herbs for their products are grown. The products are made in small batches to ensure quality and consistency and the factory is energy efficient - recycling water, using air-source heat pump systems and solar panels.

  • Their signature blue bottles can be reused or recycled and look beautiful displayed on a shelf. Some of their bottles can also be refilled in-store.

Neal’s Yard Remedies’ logo of a tree with roots growing below the ground, represents the company ethos that the beauty of the tree is dependent on what it takes from the external - the air, water and nutrients from the soil. Just like what we put in our bodies dictates our beauty on the outside. Our skin and hair health is dependent on a nourishing, balanced diet that is as free from impurities as we can make it.

I use Neal’s Yard Remedies skincare in all of my facials and the base and essential oils in my massages. I feel that the purity of the products is reflected by the scent and effectiveness of them. My firm favourite products are the Eau de Parfum No.2 Rose which I wear everyday, the Frankincense Intense Hydrating Essence which is lightweight and super-hydrating and lastly; the Rehydrating Rose Facial Oil which I love for nourishing my skin during the winter and massage into my skin each morning. Why not discover your favourites…
